Message from CEO:
Government Over the Top. The Federal Government decision to increase the Luxury Car Tax by 8% to 33% is beyond the pale. The Federal Opposition had the good sense to reject this legislation and have the whole issue referred to a Senate Committee for consideration.

Businesses may be entitled to more fuel tax credits:
From 1 July this year many small businesses will be able to claim fuel tax credits for the first time, and many others will be able to claim additional fuel tax credits. The Tax Office is encouraging small business owners to find out if they can save money on their business fuel costs. |

In its budget the Federal Government included a proposal to increase the Luxury Car Tax (LCT) rate to 33%, up from 25%. This bill was refered to a Senate committee which means that the situation is now becoming unclear and incertain in regards to dealers collection of this tax. Please find attached information received from AADA which includes advice from the ATO. |
