MTA NSW is an Industry Excellence Sponsor of the NSW Training Awards and proudly supports the Top Apprentice in Vehicle Trades Award.  This award is in addition to the awards listed below and is aimed directly at recognising not only a great apprentice but someone who is an all round individual who has achieved not only the in their training but also at the workplace. 

The ideal award recipient would be someone who could be an ambassador for the industry and the career options available within our industry.  The winner of the award also goes into consideration for NSW Apprentice of the Year.

The individual awards are:
NSW Apprentice of the Year
NSW Trainee of the Year
NSW Vocational Student of the Year
NSW Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Student of the Year
NSW Australian School Based Apprentice of the Year

The VET in Schools Awards are:
NSW Vocational School Student of the Year
NSW VET in Schools Excellence Award

The Organisation Awards are:
NSW Large Training Provider of the Year
NSW Small Training Provider of the Year
NSW Training Initiative Award
NSW Employer of the Year
NSW Small Business of the Year

Finalists for the awards are chosen from regional competitions held throughout NSW.  The winners will be announced at a gala presentation dinner at the Sydney Convention Centre on 10 September, 2009.  The state winners have the honour of representing NSW at the Australian Training Awards.

All of the regional competitions have been finalised and award ceremonies have been held all over NSW and metropolitan Sydney.  MTA NSW attended a number of the ceremonies and was delighted at the calibre of award nominees and winners from the automotive industry.
