During the second half of 2009 MTA will be conducting a number of meetings across New South Wales. It is intended that these meetings will be an opportunity to bring regional based members up to date with a number of issues affecting the industry.
Employment Relations: Greg Hatton
No Minimum Wage Increase a Surprise. The Australian Fair Pay Commission handed down its final minimum wage decision on the 7th July, 2009. In doing so it determined that minimum wages paid by corporations – the adult minimum rate and the award related pay scales – will not increase this year.

SAE-A challenges “optional safety” for some vehicles
The Society of Automotive Engineers – Australasia (SAE-A) wants the Government to include passenger carrying commercial vehicles in the legislation signed on 23 June by Federal Transport Minister Anthony Albanese to make electronic stability control (ESC) mandatory on all new passenger vehicle models sold in Australia from November 2011.
